A beautiful walk on a clear day is up to the top of Win Hill where you can see the Derwent dams and the rugged moorlands of the Dark Peak
stretching across to Kinder Scout.

A  mile down the wooded lane is Hope with its shops, pubs and post office.

Hathersage has an outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts and is has Little John's grave in the churchyard.

Castleton is the next village, with its Blue John mines and ancient Peveril Castle.

Edale and the start of the Pennine Way is only six miles away.

The Market Towns of Buxton (swimming pool) and Bakewell, famous for its tart, are 10 and 12 miles respectively.

Within easy travelling is Chatsworth House , Haddon Hall and Matlock Bath.
